It came out of nowhere, but it was VERY welcome news when The Young and the Restless star Eric Braeden tweeted a snap of him and Doug Davidson with the words, “He’s back.”
Fans let out the cyber cheers immediately and the news spread. Davidson, who had been vocal since summer about being dropped to recurring status and then having so tape dates scheduled for the foreseeable future, seemed oddly silent about it on social media of late, but not anymore.
Now, he’s happy and want to thank everyone for their support during his absence from YR and Paul’s absence from Genoa City. (But, has he really been absent or have we just not seen Paul? Has he been directing Rey’s investigation from another part of the PCPD?)
Davidson took to Twitter Friday night with two messages, reading:
“Okay! So, the cat is out of the bag. NONE of any of this would happen without all of your undying loyalty, support and kindness. All of you are the reason “Paul” is back on the canvas. THANK YOU SO MUCH. @EBraeden has been incredible the entire time. A huge thanks to him as well!”
“I will try and answer all of you, but I wasn’t expecting a press release from NEWMAN ENTERPRISES!! I promise I will respond. Again, I am forever grateful to you for all your support. XXOO”
No details have been released as to whether Davidson is on contract or just back taping on a recurring status, but seeing Paul on our YR screens once again will certainly be a sight for sore eyes.
The Young and the Restless (YR) airs weekdays on CBS. Check your local listings for airtimes.
