Victor and Abby on The Young and the Restless
No matter how much he bellows about doing everything (especially the criminal stuff) in the name of family, Victor doesn’t really trust anyone on The Young and the Restless (YR), family included.
He rotates through favorite children faster than tires in the Indy 500. One week it’s Victoria (Amelia Heinle), she’s a regular chip off the old block! The next it’s Nick (Joshua Morrow), he’s his own man, just like Dear Old Dad!
And sometimes it was even Adam (Justin Hartley), he’s a Machiavellian back-stabber, also just like Daddy!
Most recently, Victor (Eric Braeden) decreed Abby (Melissa Ordway) to be the Anointed One. While he was out of town pouting – sorry, thinking profound thoughts – he put Abby in charge of running Newman Enterprises.
Granted, she went and made a deal with Victor’s enemy, Jack (Peter Bergman), behind his back. But is that any reason for Victor to lose faith in his daughter?

Anything that doesn’t make Victor the center of attention and righteousness, Victor regrets, and 68% of you think ceding power to Abby is no exception.
But, is his concern centered on her making decisions he doesn’t approve of, or on the fact that Abby made decisions… and nothing horrible happened?
It would appear that Newman Enterprises can run perfectly well without Victor in the big chair. Is that what’s really getting his goat?

Victor has been jonesing for a child worthy of inheriting his throne, and now that he’s zeroed in on Abby, he doesn’t regret it one bit, counter 32% of viewers.
All he’s doing is making sure she’s the best she can be, and that means putting her through the executive wringer. If she can put up with Scott (Daniel Hall), then she’ll be ready for her next challenge.
