The Young and the Restless has always excelled in stories that involve the bedroom and the boardroom. Currently, there’s one that uniquely combines both these battlegrounds. We’re talking about Victoria and Phyllis trying to one-up the other over the Grand Phoenix!
The Young and the Restless Polling
Do you like seeing Phyllis (Michelle Stafford) and Victoria (Amelia Heinle) spar over one of Genoa City’s new hangouts? Soap Hub polled YR fans to get their response. Read on for the results!
Vacancy
The majority of you, about 66%, feel that no, Phyllis and Victoria have better things to do than fight for control of the Grand Phoenix hotel. Wealthy Vicky has been able to take the upper hand, showing Phyllis who’s the boss in this particular battle. In turn, Phyllis has hurled insults at Vick, pointing out that while she may be in a power position, she, Phyllis, has a man, which struck a nerve as Vicky is currently flying solo.
Phyllis recently went so far as to enlist ace computer hacker Kevin (Greg Rikaart) to get dirt on Victoria so she could blackmail her. While that sounds like the Phyllis we know and love, Kevin successfully convinced the fiery redhead not to execute this plan.
In years past, Phyllis has switched DNA tests, ran over rival Christine (Lauralee Bell) with a rental car, and took part in a coverup after thinking J.T. (Thad Luckinbill) was dead. Meanwhile, Victoria has posed nude, been arrested for attempted murder, and also took part in the aforementioned coverup when she believed she had killed her ex-husband.
The Grand Phoenix, which Phyllis, in particular, seems obsessed with owning, is a recent addition to the YR landscape. Frankly, we don’t get what’s so ‘grand’ about it. Victoria and Phyllis might have more fun sparring over Billy (Jason Thompson), Vicks ex whom Phyllis cheated on with Victoria’s brother Nick (Joshua Morrow). These two powerful women are capable of playing high-stakes drama. Maybe they should check out of the hotel wars and find something that packs more of an emotional wallop?
Booked To Capacity
The rest of you, 34%, say that you’re plenty entertained by the battle over the Grand Phoenix. Along with Society, the Grand Phoenix is Genoa City’s latest place to be seen. People take meetings there. Some people reside there. Important functions are held there. What better backdrop is there for Phyllis and Victoria to trade barbs?
Short of winning the lottery, Phyllis may never compete with Vick on a financial level. The establishment is a constant reminder of that. As a result, Phyllis will never feel satisfied until she gets control of the hotel hotspot! The Young and the Restless airs weekdays on CBS. Check local listings for airtimes.
