Demi Levato and Max Ehrich won’t be reaching supercouple status. In fact, the engaged duo have split, according to published reports.
People reports that the famous singer and the former star of The Young and the Restless have ended their engagement.
“It was a tough decision, but Demi and Max have decided to go their separate ways to focus on their respective careers,” a source told the entertainment magazine. “They have respect and love for one another and will always cherish the time they spent together.”
Just two months ago, Ehrich proposed marriage to Levato in Malibu. They had only begun dating in March. “I knew that I love you the moment I met you,” Lovato wrote on social media, referring to Ehrich.
While their relationship was short, they reportedly did self-quarantine together so, it’s safe to say that they got to know one another more quickly.
“When I was a little girl, my birth dad always called me his ‘little partner’ – something that might’ve sounded strange without his southern cowboy like accent,” posted Lovato last summer. “To me it made perfect sense. And today that word makes perfect sense again but today I’m officially going to be someone else’s partner.”
Less than two weeks ago, Lovato was frustrated over alleged fake tweets that had Ehrich declaring his love for singer Selena Gomez. “It’s really sad when people FAKE images to put women against each other,” the singer said on Instagram. “If women have conflict that’s between them NOT YOU…Yes, it’s easier to tear apart celebrities and their relationships because 2020 sucks and scares the s— out of us all but it’s only gonna stay terrifying until we address it all and WORK ON SOLUTIONS TOGETHER.”
Twitter user Maria Tineo (@Maria_Tineo) responded to @PopCrave, an entertainment publication, that reported on Lovato’s rant, with a video in which Ehrich appears to praise Gomez, revealing that he has had a major crush on Gomez since 2010. It’s unclear when Ehrich made this alleged video. “Sis, we’re literally trying to save you,” Tineo posted.
Ehrich’s twitter account has recently been deleted so this makes it more difficult to verify whether or not such tweets existed or not. The actor has yet to address the reported split directly but two weeks ago, he wrote: “I have learned so much over the years through my life experience. I am far from perfect, but truly have no regrets being that I have learned and grown from my experiences. I challenge myself ever day to be the man God crested [sic] me to be. A better version of myself each & every day.”
Today, on Instagram he posed a video from what appears to be a trailer on the production site of Southern Gospel, a new film in which he’s starring. “I’m so excited for it to come out next year,” he said.
Ehrich was on The Young and the Restless as Fenmore Baldwin from 2012-15, earning four consecutive Daytime Emmy nominations in the category of Outstanding Younger Leading Actor in a Drama Series starting in 2013. The Young and the Restless airs weekdays on CBS.
