Shemar Moore stars as Hondo Harrelson on the CBS nighttime series S.W.A.T., but he’s always going to be known as Malcolm from The Young and the Restless. The actor recently shared on Instagram the results of a COVID-19 test.
Shemar Moore Recovering From COVID
“I HAVE COVID!!!!” Moore posted on social media late Wednesday night on the west coast. “Just found out moments ago…I am gonna stay [in] wrapping presents… Yes… I have been tested and told that I HAVE COVID!!!
“I thought I had food poisoning… chills and aches all day today… still can’t smell, taste, no cough, no runny nose… I have to accept test results….” The good news is that Moore adds he feels “fine now…but I have to be responsible!!!!”
The actor is going to lay low for the holidays. “My Xmas n New Years is clearly not gonna be the best… my last year and a half have not been the best…”
Moore lost his beloved mother Marilyn this past February and in 2018, his pal, mentor, and former YR co-star Kristoff St. John (ex-Neil) died. The actor assures his fans that he will be okay.
“This is a hard time for ALL OF US… the WORLD!!! But…I BELIEVE in the sun shining through the rain!!!
“Stay safe,” Moore added, “and appreciate everything and everybody you have and had!! MUCH LOVE!!!!” The fan-favorite also added the hashtag “#wearamask.”
Moore shot to daytime stardom back in 1994 after YR cast him as Malcolm, Neil Winters’ estranged half-brother. It remained a secret for years whether Neil or Malcolm was the father of Lily (Christel Khalil), but eventually, it was revealed that Malcolm was the dad – he slept with Dru (Victoria Rowell), who was zonked out on cold medicine and Dru thought Malcolm was Neil, and Malcolm mistakenly believed that Dru wanted him — not his brother.
Moore reprised Malcolm in April 2019 when YR wrote Neil’s passing into the show. Soap Hub wishes Moore a speedy recovery from his coronavirus diagnosis. The Young and the Restless airs weekdays on CBS. Check local listings for air times.
