Daniel Hall is best known for playing Lauren’s son, Scott Grainger, on The Young and the Restless, as well as appearing a couple of different roles on the now-defunct soap, Guiding Light.
Hall has been interested in acting since he was very young and started performing with his family. From where he was born to the famous star he sword fought with, here are five fast facts about the former YR actor.
Hall was born on February 6 in Norwalk, Connecticut, but his family moved to Westport, Connecticut when he was around 10 years old. He was raised with his sister, Emily, and he became interested in musical theater at a young age. He attended the University of Michigan and became more interested in drama.
Real Life Sound Of Music
When he was young, Hall would perform with his sister and parents, Bill and Mary Ann. They formed a singing group called The Hall Family Singers and held concerts, just like the Von Trapp family. They’ve been performing at the Levitt Pavilion in Connecticut for around 20 years.
Big City Dreams
After graduating from Michigan, Hall packed his bags and made the big move to New York City to pursue acting full time. Though it was challenging, Hall loved living in the Big Apple and made ends meet by bartending and catering. He booked a few guest-starring roles and studied at the Actors Studio.
Along with his work on The Young and the Restless, Hall has also appeared on other shows over the years such as Mad Men, Law & Order: SVU, The Newsroom, Mixology, and Graceland.
Sword-Fighting With A Legend
There’s a good chance you’ve seen the Cigna commercials with Ted Danson on your television screens, and Hall is in them too. In fact, he shared on his Instagram page that he’s the actor sword-fighting with Danson during the commercial. The Young and the Restless (YR) airs weekdays on CBS.
