It’s been nearly six years since Daniel Goddard left The Young and the Restless. Since then, the actor has been leading a quiet life away from the spotlight. However, he recently hinted at a possible return to TV.
Big Announcement Coming
Goddard played Cane on Y&R from 2007 to 2019. His character’s romance with Lily (Christel Khalil) made him popular and one of the show’s supercouples. After Cane and Lily’s last divorce, the character’s time in Genoa City slowly came to an end. Cane’s final appearance had him leaving town to search for his father Colin (Tristan Rogers).
The door is open for Cane’s return and it might happen soon. Goddard posted a video on X with the caption, “Big news…and I can’t wait to share it with you.” In the video Goddard says he’s been getting lots of messages about the big news. “All I can say is this,” the actor said. “Just for now. I got a haircut. And it’s for a reason. So just soon. Very soon. I can’t wait to tell you.”
The comment section was flooded with speculation that Cane is coming back to Y&R. “Sounds like someone is going to return to Genoa City,” one user wrote. “Please tell me you are coming back to YR as Aristotle Dumas,” one viewer replied. “Are you coming to get Lily and the kids back?” asked one fan.
Goddard’s tweet comes amid speculation that Cane could be the mysterious Aristotle Dumas. There’s a lot of buzz around Damian’s (Jermaine Rivers) secret business partner, who could be a former Genoa City resident. Since Damian is wooing Cane’s ex-wife Lily, it would create perfect drama if Aristotle were Cane.
Could Goddard be returning as Cane on Y&R? Or could he have another project in the works? Whatever it is, fans are ecstatic to see him back onscreen.
