It’s not clear yet how Cane will exit the canvas on The Young and the Restless. However, fans now have an indication of when this may happen thanks to a social media post from Daniel Goddard.
The fan-favorite actor took to Instagram to count down to his final episode and wanted to let fans know exactly how he feels about their support over his many years on the hit CBS show.
“Today is my 2nd to last episode on #yr & what a ride it has been!” Goddard posted along with a photo of himself, Jess Walton (Jill), and Tristan Rogers (Colin). “Jess and Tristan I couldn’t appreciate you anymore, it has been such a joy & pleasure… we told some pretty awesome stories together… didn’t we! And to all the fans that have been on this wonderful journey with us over the years… thank you, you are loved! #faith.”
The actor first aired on YR in January 2007. His character — Ethan Cane Ashby — tried to pass himself off as Jill’s late son, Phillip (Chance’s father), and it was later revealed he was friends with the true McCoy, who had faked his death. Phillip felt bad about what he did to his family and knew Cane always wanted one), so he sent Cane to them to help heal their hearts. Instead, it all blew up in their faces.
Goddard emerged as a popular leading man on the show and Cane’s subsequent romance with Lily (Christel Khalil) became a favorite of YR fans. Their last scenes together aired in October. Stay tuned to see how Cane is written out. The Young and the Restless airs weekdays on CBS. Check local listings for air times.
