Couldn’t Happen To a Nicer Guy: Is Victor Losing His Mind on The Young and the Restless (YR)?

We’ve been here before, haven’t we The Young and the Restless (YR) fans? Victor (Eric Braeden) starts acting strangely, not like himself (sometimes better, sometimes worse). And then we find out it’s epilepsy, or a poisoning, or a concussion.

All his bad deeds are forgiven and we hit the reset button on Victor’s terrible behavior during that time period. (Except the time when epilepsy made him love puppies.)

Well, here we go again. Victor has been particularly nasty lately, with his peak achievement being taking poor, little Christian away from the only dad he’s ever known, and then actually taunting Nick (Joshua Morrow) about it.

But, he also recently had a stroke, and his hand shakes, and he’s losing his temper at inconvenient moments. Cue the health issue? Is Victor losing his mind? Who needs Dr. Nate (Brooks Darnell)? We have over 2,000 viewers to make the diagnosis!

Sure, 63% of you shrug. It’s a side-effect from his stroke. Victor’s latest terrible actions aren’t the result of his being a terrible person, they’re a physical side-effect of being shoved down the stairs.

A healthy Victor would never, ever hurt his son by taking away his child. He’d just break a mentally unstable woman out of the hospital and set her on the path to getting his son killed. That’s what a fully in-his-right-mind Victor would do!

Nothing Has Changed
Except for the shaky hands, we’re seeing the same old Victor, and 32% of the audience isn’t buying another medical excuse. There might be some health issues to deal with physically, but mentally, you don’t see any difference.

Victor has always flown into rages at the slightest provocation. The only difference is now he’s doing it on the Internet. Even Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott) is still defending him as if everything is exactly the same as always.
