Nobody ever really bought the story that Adam Newman died in that cabin fire on The Young and the Restless more than two years ago. And, there’s a good reason.
First, nobody really dies on soaps. Second, we knew he’d be recast one day and now he has. Soap Opera Digest confirms the earlier rumor that Mark Grossman has been cast as the new Adam after an extended search.
Grossman’s prior TV credits include a role on the Freeform series Famous In Love, as well in the movie Get Big. This is the 32-year-old actor’s first soap.
Adam was previously played by Chris Engen from 2008-2009, Michael Muhney from 2009-2014, and Justin Hartley from 2014-2016.
Fans speculated last year that when Chelsea left town she knew Adam was alive and took off to be with him and that could still turn out to be true.
Adam was presumed dead in the fall of 2016 after a daring prison escape, but Chloe was still determined to make him pay for the hit and run that killed her daughter, Delia. And, she succeeded.
No word on when Grossman first airs, but Soap Hub will keep you informed as we know more.
