In the fall of 2021, The Young and the Restless star Christian Le Blanc celebrated 30 years as legal eagle Michael Baldwin, a character who had a less-than-auspicious beginning, but who has also grown and evolved into a different man with different values, but the same quirks that Le Blanc has instilled in him to make him so beloved.
Christian Le Blanc Can Always Make Us Smile
At one time, Michael Baldwin was a scoundrel who harassed and stalked Christine Blair Williams (Lauralee Bell) when she was first starting her legal career. It was hard to believe the character would last but thanks to Le Blanc’s talents, he did. The actor had already become beloved to CBS soap fans on As the World Turns as Kirk McColl, so it wasn’t hard for Y&R fans to fall in love with him. And it was the love of a good woman who eventually turned Michael’s life around when he fell for Lauren Fenmore (Tracey Bregman), married her, had a child, and became a family man.
Through the years, fans have watched Michael grow as his own family arrived in town, mom, Gloria Fisher (Judith Chapman), and brother, Kevin Fisher (Greg Rikaart). Becoming a father also changed Michael, but thanks to Le Blanc’s unbelievably considerable charm that always infuses a wry sense of humor in Michael’s voice and a sly smile on his face as he is often the voice of reason in impossible situations, while also getting himself into seemingly-impossible situations. A prime example is his newfound partnership with Victor Newman (Eric Braeden), which left him missing for several weeks, but then became a sight for sore eyes for his family and fans.
Le Blanc has been entertaining CBS soap fans and Y&R fans for so long for a reason. He knows his character, he knows what makes Michael tick, and he knows how to have fun no matter what situation his character is thrown into.
