On The Young and the Restless, ever since Chelsea Lawson faked insanity to get out of going on trial for trying to kill Rey Rosales, nothing much has been happening in Genoa City.

Why It’s Great To Have Tara Causing Havoc On Young and the Restless

Characters move from set to set, characters have conversations. But there’s no action. Abby Chancellor (Melissa Ordway) and Mariah Copeland (Camryn Grimes) talk about their baby. Amanda Sinclair (Mishael Morgan) and Devon Hamilton (Bryton James) talk about her family. Victor (Eric Braeden) and Adam (Mark Grossman) Newman talk about taking down Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson). Billy and Lily Ashby (Christel Khalil) talk about all the sex they’re having – while talking about taking down Victor and Adam.

Leading Lady

That’s why it’s so great to have somebody on the canvas with an actual plan – who is actually putting it into action.

Tara Locke (Elizabeth Leiner) is batting her big, blue eyes at Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman), buttering him up about what a great pater familias he is. She is urging Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) to spend time with his newfound son, cooing about how quickly he and Harrison (Kellen Enriquez) have bonded, why don’t you go read him another story, he so adores you!

Two Faces

Meanwhile, Tara is also scheming with Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope) to get Summer Newman (Hunter King) her dream job in Italy, while sweetly telling her baby daddy’s fiancée that if she doesn’t leave town, Tara will make sure that Kyle never sees Harrison again.

So Summer is crying – and packing to leave town. While Tara is smiling – and getting everything she wants.

Past Tense

The Young and the Restless has a long history of schemers. There’s Jill Abbott Atkinson (Jess Walton), there’s Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford), there’s Lauren Fenmore Baldwin (Tracey Bregman), there’s Hilary Curtis (Mishael Morgan), there’s Chloe Mitchell (Elizabeth Hendrickson), there’s even Chelsea, and there used to be Summer. All of them have been rather defanged lately. (Hilary is dead. The rest have no excuses.)

So nice that Tara is picking up the baton – and running with it! The Young and the Restless (YR) airs weekdays on CBS. Check your local listings for airtimes.
