Faith’s bullying story is topical and goodness knows the poor teen’s troubled life has given her abusers tons of ammunition. The Young and the Restless had Nick come to his daughter’s rescue, but is the tale really over? And who might have been the most unlikely person to go after Faith?

Parents Of The Year

Both Nick (Joshua Morrow) and Sharon (Sharon Case) stood by Faith’s (Alyvia Alyn Lind) side after they learned that she was getting bullying texts. At first, Faith didn’t want her parents interfering in her life as many teens her age are looking to establish independence, but Nick insisted.

A line was drawn after someone captured a photo of Adam (Mark Grossman) kissing Sharon and tried to embarrass Faith with it. Nick met with school authorities and the person who took the pic was reprimanded. Nick is making sure the other girls stop harassing his daughter.

Surprise Twist

COVID safety measures and budgets have affected storytelling so seeing Faith at school interacting with her tormentors or watching her in the lunchroom going up against a group of mean girls may not have been feasible.

That’s too bad because most of Faith’s bullying has been done by text pop-ups. Lind has been doing a terrific job showing Faith’s fear and angst, however, the threat might have felt greater if we had actually witnessed Faith enduring some hardships.

The Mastermind

What if there had been a reason that we didn’t see Faith being bullied? For a while, characters only had Faith’s word to go on that she was being picked on digitally. Suppose Faith had orchestrated the whole scenario, hoping to draw her parents back together?

Her problem certainly resulted in Sharon and Nick spending time with each other. Faith adores stepdad Rey (Jordi Vilasuso) and appears to like Nick’s girlfriend Phyllis (Michelle Stafford), but isn’t it more the norm for children of divorce to want to see their mother and father reunited?

Stay Tuned

Now, Faith’s getting anonymous texts praising her for dealing with the bullies, so this story isn’t over. Faith has a powerful family behind her so anyone picking on her is going to likely go down in flames.

In addition to having protective and engaged parents, and a stepdad who’s a police detective, Faith also has a powerful grandfather, Victor Newman (Eric Braeden), and Phyllis knows how to deal with adversaries.
