The Young and the Restless knows how to bring the drama and May 12-16 was no exception. From a meltdown to an act of defiance to a return we want to see more, these are the moments that kept us glued to our screens.
A Crying Shame
Oh, Mariah (Camryn Grimes)…what have you done?! Her dirty little secret (how dirty, exactly?) is making her a mess. She’s tearful, she’s guilty, and she’s ruining her marriage. In fact, on Monday, she basically pushed Tessa (Cait Fairbanks) straight into Daniel’s arms by having a breakdown and running off. More than anyone, Mariah knows all secrets come out eventually so it’s time to spit it out and take her lumps. Will the truth ruin her life? Maybe. But, keeping her mouth shut is doing that anyway.
Oh, Billy, When Will You Ever Learn?
Billy defiance was on full display at the GCAC on Wednesday. Facing Adam and Chelsea, he exposed his knowledge of Victor’s smear campaign. Adam warned him the Newmans were always ahead, but Billy wasn’t intimidated. Chelsea tried to mediate, urging Billy to back down, but he refused. Even when Victor appeared, taunting him and reminding him that time was running out, Billy stood firm. He’d rather fail on his own terms than be bullied. Victor, unimpressed, authorized Adam to launch the down and dirty campaign.
Amanda’s Return
We love Amanda. We want Amanda. In fact, we NEED Amanda. Watching her waltz back into town is great and all but these short little visits are nothing but a tease. Amanda (Mishael Morgan) is a powerhouse, a romantic, and (dare we say) a bit of control freak, but that’s why we love her. Now, this mess with her being so close to Dumas has us on edge. Who is this guy? Why is she sidling up to him. And, most of all, why won’t she reveal the truth to Lily (Christel Khalil), Devon (Bryton James), and Nate (Sean Dominic)? Friday gave us some screen time with the legal eagle but it also left us with way more questions than answers.
