The Young and the Restless (Y&R) has a new face in town as Jason Thompson makes his on-screen debut as Billy Abbott.
When it looks like all hope is gone, Billy’s loved ones gather together at the hospital to say their final goodbyes, including his small children.
One by one, each family member will bring the audience to tears as they say what they think is their last farewell. As the tears flow freely, the nurse starts to take Billy off the machines.
Just when it looks like this is then end for the beloved Abbott son, a miracle happens that makes it clear Billy may just make it after al–and have a new look.
Near the end of the episode, we’re introduced to the new Billy Abbott. There are no bandages, no plastic surgery, and no face transplant, just a simple voiceover saying, “The role of Billy Abbott is now being played by Jason Thompson.”
It looks like Billy is going to get a second chance at life, although how he survives without the machines is still unclear. Will Dr. Neville show up with a last minute Hail Mary drug or will Billy miraculously come around on his own?
With soap veteran Thompson now playing Billy, we could start to see some fast fireworks. Thompson is known for superb acting skills, and the ability to pull off any storyline. As Y&R fans welcome him to their screens, they can expect to see great things from this five-time Emmy-nominated actor.
