The Young and the Restless viewers know that Daniel Romalotti has strong ties to Genoa City even though he’s been gone for a while. He’s back with big plans and a whole new direction, but he’s also hiding something big. For his performance, Soap Hub Performer of the Week honors for Y&R is presented to Daniel’s portrayer, Michael Graziadei.

Daniel hasn’t been back in town long, but he’s already lined up a whole new gig with Lily Winters (Christel Khalil) and Devon Hamilton (Bryton James) at Chancellor-Winters. The tone of voice that Graziadei uses when he’s describing his new gaming platform shows viewers that it means a lot to Daniel, and it’s hard not to wonder how it’s connected to Lucy. The guarded look in his eyes also reveals that there’s something big that he’s hiding, and it has to do with his family.

Also, this week, Daniel spent a lot of time communicating with Lily. He had some pointed things to say to her about Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson), and the way the actor delivered the lines written for Daniel really gave an additional dimension to his feelings for his ex. He’s not being at all subtle about it, either. Graziadei’s Daniel comes to life when Lily walks in, adding even more gravity to the renewed closeness between these two.

When Daniel met up with Billy, his tone and demeanor changed entirely. The body language, facial expressions, and line delivery choices from the actor conveyed to the audience exactly how Daniel feels about Billy, especially as it concerns Lily. He wasn’t overtly mean, but there wasn’t any love lost between these two.

As a final contrast, Daniel’s discussion with Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) revealed how much he loves and trusts his mom. The easygoing body language he had around her and his open body language when describing his new project showed the strength of their connection. Bravo on an excellent performance Michael Graziadei. We’re looking forward to many more!
