The Young and the Restless viewers know that Billy Abbott has it out for Adam Newman, and he’ll do anything to cause the man who killed his daughter some grief. For his performance, Soap Hub Performer of the Week honors for Y&R is presented to Billy’s portrayer, Jason Thompson.

Billy has had an interesting time lately. He’s in a fairly solid relationship with Lily Winters (Christel Khalil), but he can’t quite seem to stay away from Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle), and now Chelsea Lawson (Melissa Claire Egan) is in his orbit. We’ve enjoyed how Thompson has carefully portrayed these scenes through the use of facial expressions, body language, and pointed line delivery to show that he may be interested in both these women a bit more than Lily would appreciate.
However, the actor truly shined when he sparred with Adam Newman (Mark Grossman). Billy simply could not help himself, and Jason Thompson played his on-screen alter ego’s delight at Adam’s misfortunate…yet again…just perfectly.

We especially appreciated the back and forth Thompson and Grossman had with Billy and Adam at the bar at Society. We truly felt Billy’s gleeful reaction to Adam losing out after Victoria returned because of Thompson’s skills, and we enjoyed the light-hearted moment from a recently more somber and serious Billy. Brave on a wonderful performance, and we can’t wait to see what Jason Thompson brings to Billy in the coming weeks.
