The Young and the Restless viewers know that Elena Dawson is fierce and proud of her work as a doctor. She also worked very hard to make things work with Nate, but he cheated on her with Victoria. For her performance as a woman betrayed, Soap Hub Performer of the Week honors for Y&R is presented to Elena’s portrayer, Brytni Sarpy.

Brytni Sarpy: Y&R Performer of the Week

This week was a big one for Elena, and Sarpy brought some fiery performances. One big area where she shined was when Elena talked to J.T. (Thad Luckinbill) via video call. While her words encouraged him to come, the things Elena didn’t say really did the talking. Sarpy showed her on-screen alter ego’s doubt through Elena’s facial expressions and closed body language. Even though she didn’t outright lie to J.T., it was obvious that Elena felt guilty over not being entirely upfront about Victoria’s (Amelia Heinle) lack of involvement in her plans.

Of course, her scenes with Audra (Zuleyka Silver) also worked beautifully. She used strong body language and shrewd facial expressions to let Nate’s second-in-command at work know that she wouldn’t put up with nonsense. However, when she realized Nate lied to her, the fury showed through in Elena’s eyes.

Brytni Sarpy really showed off Elena’s biggest moment when she confronted Victoria and Nate (Sean Dominic) in Los Angeles. She was in the background yet her presence was strongly felt and she managed to steal the scene with her furious stance and her eyes aflame as she listened to Nate and Victoria talk about focusing on business instead of their personal lives.

Nate knew he was busted when Elena showed up, and she was not having any of his gaslighting. Sarpy conveyed Elena’s deep disdain when she picked up the glass of water and tossed its contents into Nate’s face. All week long, Sarpy hit the right notes with her dramatic scenes. We can’t wait to see what comes next. Brava on an excellent performance!
