The Young and the Restless viewers know that Victoria Newman will do anything to gain her father’s approval — much like her other siblings. Currently, she’s in Victor Newman’s good graces, but all that could change, and she’s starting to feel the heat. This week, she lorded her position over her brother Adam Newman at every turn. For that convincing (and sometimes funny) performance, Soap Hub Performer of the Week honors for Y&R is presented to Victoria’s portrayer, Amelia Heinle.

Victoria is seemingly on top of the world. Oh sure, she has to contend with her husband, Ashland Locke (Richard Burgi), suddenly wanting a more powerful role at Newman Locke and her father Victor’s (Eric Braeden) constant testing of his progeny, but, for the most part, she is a woman who has it all. That’s why it’s so funny when she lords that fact over her brother, Adam (Mark Grossman) because despite having everything, she simply can’t help herself.
Perhaps one of the funniest scenes of this week came when Victoria marched over to her newly acquired Newman Media to measure Adam’s office. Heinle took the absurdity of that petty scene to great heights with her performance. We loved seeing how snooty she played Victoria while Adam suffered his sister’s brazen invasion.

Another excellent moment for Amelia Heinle’s portrayal of Victoria this week is when she barged ahead and accepted Adam’s expected resignation before he gave it, and oops…Adam chose to stay. Sorry, Vic, you’ll have to figure out how to contend with your baby brother vying for your position at what is undoubtedly soon-to-be Newman Enterprises again.
Recently, Victoria’s high and mighty behavior made us feel all the feelings, which means Heinle is doing an excellent job in portraying Victoria. Kudos on a job well done.
