It’s no secret that Victor on The Young and the Restless has never been the greatest guy in Genoa City. However, his recent behavior seems out of character even for the ruthless businessman, which has led to a theory about why he’s acting insane.

Key Takeaways

  • One Y&R fan thinks Victor has a medical condition, making him out of control.
  • His recent actions have raised red flags.
  • It’s been done before on soaps.

Could There Be More to Victor’s Behavior on Y&R?

There is no question that Victor (Eric Braeden) has been off lately. Victor has always been ruthless and out for blood, but his actions of literally not caring about anyone, even his wife Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott), seem very odd.

After watching Victor act like a crazy old man with vengeance for the millionth time, one fan on X came up with a theory that could redeem him in the future.

“Could Y&R Victor be having a medical issue that’s to blame for his recent behavior? His choices & mood swings (especially towards Nikki) seem a bit more extreme. Wondering if this is the start of separate story,” questioned the fan.

Another fan responded to the theory, saying, “Could be a possibility, or just the fact no one has ever come this close to besting Victor for his empire? Curious to see what happens next.”

Giving Victor a medical condition would justify his awful behavior. It’s bad enough he got Lily (Christel Khalil) to agree to let Cane (Billy Flynn) think she and the kids were kidnapped, but Victor really did kidnap Jack (Peter Bergman) and unleashed Patty (Stacy Haiduk) on him.

The way Victor went after Nikki was horrible. Those two have had their fair share of fights, drama, and splits. However, this time Victor took things to a level like never before.

If Y&R were to go this route, the CBS soap certainly wouldn’t be the first to use a medical crisis as an excuse for bad behavior. General Hospital did it to redeem Franco (Roger Howarth), giving him a brain tumor after the role was recast to justify the character’s actions when James Franco played him.

This story seems far from over, so only time will tell if Victor is acting like a jerk because of a health issue or simply because that is who he is.
