Poor Billy got his feelings hurt when Victoria had to freeze him out of her life on The Young and the Restless (YR).
Then, he managed to be alone for about all of five seconds before he decided to go after the next best thing – Phyllis (Gina Tognoni) — reigniting the “Philly” pairing. The keywords here being “next best.” Being turned away by Victoria doesn’t mean he picked Phyllis over her.
So when Victoria (Amelia Heinle) got an eyeful of their kissing in the elevator, who could blame her for being hurt?
Then again, she needed to learn the lesson that Billy, while often callous with others’ feelings, actually has a few of his own and she did indeed hurt him.
But, what was up with that diatribe Phyllis went on? She’s hardly in position to be throwing shade at any woman for treating Billy (Jason Thompson) like crap. It feels like it was just yesterday that she threw him over for his brother.
And Phyllis didn’t just pick Jack (Peter Bergman). She basically told Billy it was never about her feelings for him but rather she was using him as big giant Band-Aid to heal her wounds after the hell she went through because of Victor (Eric Braeden).
We’re sure that made Billy feel about one inch tall with how intensely she went about turning him away, saying she realized it was always about Jack – and that he was the only man for her.
It was so bad, it seemed those two were never going to be friends again, never mind lovers!
So what will happen to “Philly” if Jack finally makes peace with Phyllis’s betrayal and decides he wants her back? Probably the same thing if Victoria ever sets her mind to getting Billy back. This couple is doomed.
