There’s no doubt that Noah Newman loves Sienna Bacall on The Young and the Restless, but his refusal to bring Allie up to speed is curious. His supposed ex-fiancée has been mentioned a few times since Noah was reunited with his family. But there’s yet to be a moment where he didn’t sidestep a question about informing the Abbott heir of where his heart now lies. Their delayed discussion of his romantic future is a story element that could blow up in his face.
Key Takeaways
- The reason Noah hasn’t told Allie about Sienna
- Nick Newman is wrong— everything isn’t out in the open
- Why Noah could be keeping the truth from Allie
Why Allie Doesn’t Know About Sienna
Cuddled up and declaring his love is how Noah (Lucas Adams) wants to spend his time with Sienna (Tamara Braun). It’s easier than having a hard, but honest conversation with Allie (Kelsey Wang). She’s a continent away, working in Paris, while he’s thinking of the life he can have with Sienna in L.A. He told Sienna that he wanted to tell Allie about their romance, but not over the phone. Yet, he’s made no real plans to hop a plane and end their relationship for good.
Noah’s shared that distance and busy work schedules drove him and Allie apart. Now it’s the distance and the chaos that Matt Clark (Roger Howarth—Soap Hub’s Performer of the Month!) caused that’s kept him from speaking with her. There’s always something that’s impeding Noah from telling the truth to a woman he says he cares about.
Dominic’s (Ethan Ray Clark) kidnapping by his sister, Mariah (Camryn Grimes), is the latest family crisis to come up. Now he’s promised to stay in Genoa City until their mother, Sharon (Sharon Case), no longer needs him. Clearly, he won’t be flying to France to see Allie anytime soon.
Noah Is Keeping Nick in the Dark About Allie
On Tuesday, February 3’s episode of Y&R, Noah felt he had to defend his relationship with Sienna to his dad, Nick (Joshua Morrow). He didn’t care for Nick’s implication that their romance is a bit thin, with very little to support it, or his analysis that Noah tends to fall for women he thinks he can save. Noah reminded him that he hadn’t liked most of the women he’s dated. But Nick did like Allie and, as he pointed out to his son, so did Noah. But that line of conversation was quickly shut down.
Nick mentioned that everything is out in the open now, but that’s not true, and Noah didn’t correct him. Allie has been left out of the loop and, for now, Noah is letting it stay that way. So, it begs the question: Is there a reason Noah is telling everyone but Allie that he wants to spend his life with Sienna?
Y&R Could Be Leaving the Door Open for Noah and Allie
The longer Noah hedges about being honest, the more it seems the door is being left open for Allie to become an issue for him and Sienna. He’s been adamant that Sienna is who he loves, and he’s willing to pick up and go wherever to be with her. With Allie off-screen, that works. But if the two stay together, and she makes her way back home to Genoa City before they can leave for L.A., viewers will get Allie’s side of the story. Their romance’s demise may not be as clear-cut as Noah’s been making it.
He’s hand-waved getting involved with a married woman and scoffed at the idea that he fell for her because she was unavailable. But that might strike closer to the truth than he’s willing to admit. If Allie does come home, he’s likely to have a mess on his hands. Sitting on information someone else needs to know doesn’t tend to play out well for the person who withheld that information.
Noah and Allie had been engaged. Perhaps they still are. With only Noah’s side of the story, there’s plenty the audience still doesn’t know.
