Aristotle Dumas is a hot topic on The Young and the Restless. The mysterious businessman has Genoa City buzzing as they await his eventual arrival. But will the reveal of his identity be a letdown?
Keep Them In Suspense
The mystery of Aristotle Dumas’ identity has been a major storyline since February. Everyone was interested in Damian’s (Jermaine Rivers) secret partners. Top executives like Billy (Jason Thompson) and Lily (Christel Khalil) want to do business with Mr. Dumas.
But who is Aristotle?
Plenty of fan theories have emerged. Everyone from Tucker (Trevor St. John) to Holden (Nathan Owens) to Diane (Susan Walters) is a suspect. Some have even suggested he be a new character or possibly a character from another soap opera doing a crossover.
Whoever Dumas is, Y&R better hurry up and make the big reveal. The show has been keeping viewers in suspense for the past three months and offering little clues about his identity.
From the way other characters talk, Aristotle is a powerful businessman. One would think the writers would make the reveal so Dumas can go up against Genoa City’s elite. Yet, the show isn’t any closer to revealing his identity.
The longer the storyline continues, the less exciting it becomes. On Reddit, Y&R fans discussed their dislike for the Dumas mystery.
”Absolutely no interest in Dumas,” declared one user.
”I stopped caring weeks ago when the sub was flooded with the most inane guesses,” one fan replied.
”I feel sorry for the actor playing Dumas. (If we ever see him/her). After this ridiculous build up, it’s going to be very difficult to live up to the hype,” one viewer wrote.
If Y&R expected the Aristotle Dumas story to be dramatic, it’s having the opposite effect. The reveal is the only thing that can save the storyline at this point. Depending on who the writers have as Dumas, the reveal will either be a success or a failure.
