Is It Time To Bring Back Summer on Y&R?
Ever since Phyllis (Michelle Stafford) teamed up with Cane (Billy Flynn) to take Newman Enterprises from Victor (Eric Braeden) and his family, Summer (Allison Lanier) has been a hot topic.
Victoria (Amelia Heinle) wants to use Summer to force Phyllis to give back the company. Meanwhile, Daniel (Michael Graziadei) has informed Phyllis that neither he nor Summer wants anything to do with her following her latest actions.
It seems like Summer is mentioned on the CBS soap, and Y&R fans are tired of hearing her name and never seeing her on-screen.

Honestly, though, Summer isn’t needed back full-time. We understand she’s a legacy character, and fans feel she should be in the mix, but keeping Summer on the canvas would be a waste of the character.
The only way it makes sense is if there is a storyline that doesn’t involve her trying to get back with Kyle (Michael Mealor). Otherwise, if the writers are going to bring Summer back to do the same old same old with the character, then let her stay in Milan, where Y&R fans learned she’s thriving and has a new man in her life.
If a pop-in isn’t in the works, then just talking about Summer is fine, and while it’s an unpopular choice, it is working for now. It keeps the character in the mix without casting an actress for the role when the character remains underutilized.
