Y&R spoilers continue to show us an active love life for Lily. She is reunited with teenage love Daniel, while offering ex Billy a sympathetic ear, demonstrating that they may not be as done as either seems to think. But what about the other love of Lily’s life, the father of her twins, Cane Ashby?
Cane Ashby: A Speculation
When viewers last saw Cane (Daniel Goddard), he vowed to travel the world until he could prove that he was not responsible for the forged will that left Kay’s (Jeanne Cooper) fortune to him, not Devon (Bryton James). Cane left…and hasn’t been heard from since. Well, at least not on the air. What if he’s been in touch with Lily (Christel Khalil) off-screen? They do share a son and a daughter. If we were to dig through Lily’s emails, here’s what we might turn up.
Dear Lily
Thanks for the updates on Charlie and Mattie. Nice to know that who they were as kids is still holding. Mattie is hitting the books, and Charlie is hitting on girls, and both sound happy. I’m happy for them. Say, do either of them ever ask about their little brother, Sam? Turns out traveling the world with a preschooler is, well, it’s damn hard, Lily. Are kids always so hungry? So cranky? So sticky?
I don’t remember Charlie and Mattie going through this stage. With them, it feels like one minute they were adorable babies, and the next, they could take care of themselves. Did I blink and miss it? Or did you just pick up all the slack? (I admit, there are days when Sam is throwing a tantrum where I wish I could fake being dead again and skip all this grunt work. Joke! I’m joking!) In any case, if Charlie or Mattie do ask about Sam, please let them know I am happy to send him for a visit. Siblings should keep in touch, wouldn’t you agree?

The Fugitive
Meanwhile, this clearing my name thing is taking longer than I expected. Hard to prove a negative, you know? Colin is no help (with justice or with Sam; some grandfather he turned out to be). He can’t understand why anyone would want to prove they weren’t an heir. And, to be honest, I’m having a hard time remembering why I went on this quest in the first place. Kay loved me. Who’s to say she didn’t want me to inherit her money? He’s not even related to Philip II. I, at least, pretended to be! I’m starting to reconsider this whole thing.
