His sudden eagerness to jump on a plane with Devon (Bryton James) and Lily (Christel Khalil) also raises red flags. Is he really hoping to help, or is he just trying to control the fallout before something explosive comes out? Dumas fired him, so why show up to the party? Unless… Damian’s actually part of the problem.
Is Amy Being Played by Her Own Son?
Now let’s talk about his scenes with Amy (Valarie Pettiford). Damian throws in just enough emotional honesty—“I feel angry sometimes,” “I’m grateful to have you back,” “Forgiveness sets you free”—to keep her hopeful and off his scent. But it almost feels rehearsed, like he’s saying what she wants to hear rather than what he actually feels. Amy’s no fool, and her worry feels more like intuition than motherly concern.

Could Damian be playing a long game? Is he lying to Amy while quietly working his own agenda behind Devon and Lily’s backs? Or has he genuinely turned over a new leaf? We want to believe in his redemption arc, but something about his timing…and his story…feels just a little too convenient.
