The Young and the Restless is preparing for Thanksgiving festivities. As all of Genoa City gather for delicious food and family time, it’s also a time of reflection. After a drama-filled year, many characters have lots to be thankful for.

Key Takeaways

  • Sharon escaped captivity twice.
  • Billy’s love and professional life is growing.
  • Phyllis got a new man.

Freedom At Last

If anyone had a tough year, it’s Sharon (Sharon Case). The coffeehouse owner started off 2025 being held captive by Jordan (Colleen Zenk) and Ian (Ray Wise). Luckily, she managed to escape, but a few months later, she was kidnapped again.

This time, Sharon and Phyllis (Michelle Stafford) were held captive by Martin (Christopher Cousins). The two rivals were traumatized and faced death, but were rescued by Billy (Jason Thompson) and Nick (Joshua Morrow).

Thankfully, Sharon’s days of captivity are over…for now. Although it was a horrifying ordeal, the experience seemed to mark the end of Sharon and Phyllis’ long-standing feud.

Business And Pleasure

Billy has worked hard to turn his life around. With Sally (Courtney Hope) by his side and his new company, Abbott Communications, about to launch, things are looking up for Billy. However, he almost threw it all away for the chance to gain control of Chancellor.

Although it appeared Billy was going to screw up, some tough love from Sally and his family set him straight. Billy’s focus returned to Sally and Abbott Communications, and in the process, he made peace with his estranged mom, Jill (Jess Walton).

Fresh Start For Claire

Claire (Hayley Erin) suffered two big losses this year. There was the death of her father Cole (J. Eddie Peck) and then her breakup with Kyle (Michael Mealor). But through the midst of tragedies emerged a new Claire.

Gone was the young, innocent girl who was a pushover. Now was a strong woman, who didn’t let anyone, including Audra (Zuleyka Silver) and Victor (Eric Braeden) walk over her. Claire’s newfound attitude also led her on a special trip and possibly a new romance with Holden (Nathan Owens).

Genoa City Romances

2025 was a big year for many Genoa City couples. Longtime lovebirds Danny (Michael Damian) and Christine (Lauralee Bell) made a huge commitment. The reunited couple married in a simple yet elegant ceremony surrounded by family and friends. With Phyllis out of the picture, hopefully, everything will work out for Danny and Christine this time around.

Speaking of Phyllis, her personal and professional life took an interesting turn. Cane’s (Billy Flynn) return sparked a business partnership and eventually led to a romance. After months of flirting, Phyllis and Cane, aka Phane, finally gave in to temptation. With Phane together, they’re officially on their way to becoming Genoa City’s power couple.
