The Young and the Restless continues bringing the drama. Some of the highlights of the past week include a new romance being teased, while another couple hit a roadblock in their reunion. Here’s some of the best moments from October 13-17.
Key Takeaways
- Phyllis and Cane shared a tense, yet sensual moment.
- Sally received a fire warning about her relationship with Billy.
- Tessa’s visit with Mariah ended in tears.
The Phane Train
Y&R keeps teasing a potential romance between Phyllis (Michelle Stafford) and Cane (Billy Flynn). This week’s scenes proved why Phane could be the show’s next power couple. Phyllis and Cane have wonderful chemistry, and it shined during their most recent scenes. During a discussion over drinks, the business partners traded barbs over Cane’s AI software and his image being tarnished. Their playful banter showed why Phyllis might be a better match for Cane than Lily (Christel Khalil). But what sealed the deal is Phyllis’ words to Cane at the end of the evening. “You need me,” she said to him before leaving. Something tells us Phyllis wasn’t talking about business when she uttered the warning.
Sally Sees Billy’s True Colors
We were robbed of a face-to-face meeting between Jill (Jess Walton) and Sally (Courtney Hope) during her recent visit. But Y&R made up for it with another video chat with the two women. Jill has taken a shine to her son’s new girlfriend and agreed to be an investor for Abbott Communications. Sally’s excitement over the gesture was cut short by what Jill said next. Jill advised Sally to be careful when it comes to her feelings for Billy (Jason Thompson) because he’ll lead her down an uneven path.
Later Sally got a glimpse of just what Jill was referring to. Sally broke Jill’s promise by telling Billy his mother was Abbott Communications’ new investor. This set off Billy, who demanded that Sally break off the deal with Jill. Sally refused and told Billy to trust her, yet Billy might ruin everything by going behind Sally’s back to confront Jill. Now that Sally’s seen the real Billy maybe it’s time for her to take Jill’s advice.
Teriah’s Failed Reunion
Now that Tessa (Cait Fairbanks) knows what happened to Mariah (Camryn Grimes), she’s more eager to help her wife. This week Tessa arrived in Boston to visit Mariah. While she hoped things would be better, it’s gotten worse.
Tessa tried her best to get Mariah to open up by playing cards and talking about Aria (Millie and Maddie Ingles). Yet, Mariah was more withdrawn than usual. Tessa promised to help Mariah and get her out of the facility. However, Mariah was adamant she had to do this alone and she’s not ready to come home.
After sharing a hug, Tessa was left alone where she broke down in tears. It was a heartbreaking moment for Teriah, which has fans worried this might actually be the end for the beloved couple.
