Abby and Chance are ready to be parents on The Young and the Restless. They have Mariah as a surrogate and Abby is over the moon. Bestie Devon is up for the role of the donor. However, we have a feeling there is someone better out there to be Abby and Chance’s perfect match.
The Young and the Restless: Keep It In The Family
We’re definitely not knocking Devon (Bryton James) as a good choice for bio daddy. He is basically the perfect man, after all. He is smart, successful, rich, and connected to the Chancellor and Winters dynasties. Having a baby with his DNA would tie in all the most prominent families in town.
However, Devon still mourns the loss of his and Hilary’s child. While it would be amazing for him to lend a hand (yes, pun is intended), it would not be fair to Devon emotionally. He lost his first baby and now he is gifting his second little one. Maybe we should give Devon a family of his own before he grows branches for other family trees.
Perfect Match
We think there is someone out there no one has considered yet who is the best and most ideal match for this storyline. Nina’s (Tricia Cast) seemingly forgotten son, Ronan Malloy. Chance’s brother is out there and would be an ideal fellow to call for this situation.

Not only would we then get Ronan (Jeff Branson) back on set (who doesn’t love a rugged yet charming guy?), but then the baby would have a part of both his parents’ DNA. The child would be biologically connected to both Abby (Melissa Ordway) and Chance one way or another, which is what the couple originally wanted in the first place.
This would also give Chance and Abby some degree of separation from their donor. Ronan’s life is far too busy to stick around Genoa City and watch the baby grow up. He would come, drop off his donation, maybe stick around long enough to make sure Mariah is pregnant, and take off for another exciting mission.
