Earlier this year on The Young and the Restless, Abby was looking forward to getting pregnant with her and Chance’s baby, and sharing the entire child-rearing experience with him.

But then she found out she wasn’t capable of carrying a baby. That’s all right, they’ll use Mariah (Camryn Grimes) as a surrogate!

Then they found out that Chance (Donny Boaz) wouldn’t be able to father a child. That’s all right, they’ll use a sperm donor.

Then, Chance took off for a mystery assignment for an even more mysterious length of time. Uhm… that’s all right, Abby will go ahead and select a donor and have Mariah impregnated anyway. At this point, we’re wondering why either Abby or Chance is necessary at all, but, hey, money can buy you pretty much anything.

Chance’s mom, Nina (Tricia Cast) is all in and even enthusiastically helping Abby select a genetic replacement for her son. (Ewwww?) Should she stick around to support her daughter-in-law through this confusing time? What almost 2,000 of you told us:

Home, Sweet Home

Of course, Nina should stay, 86% of the audience cheers. Genoa City is her home. She has way more connections here than just Abby. And, sure, Abby has the support of her entire family, especially Victor (Eric Braeden), who sees this as a personal project entitled: My Next Grandchild.

But, as a result, it’s easy to leave Chance completely out of the mix. Nina can be there to defend his interests. And to remind that even though he isn’t the biological father, and who knows when he’ll return to be the adoptive father, he is still the father… somehow.

Not Needed

Only 14% of the fans believe Nina isn’t needed. Abby and the Newmans have everything under control. Abby has had the final word on every decision up to this point. She’ll have the final word on everything moving forward. The Young and the Restless (YR) airs weekdays on CBS. Check your local listings for airtimes.
