He Had It Coming? Did JT Deserve His Fate On The Young and the Restless (YR)?

Friday’s The Young and the Restless (YR) ended with JT going too far in trying to convince Victoria that they belong together – and Nikki ending the ongoing situation once and for all with a fireplace poker to the back of JT’s skull.

There’s no question that the JT (Thad Luckinbill) who returned to Genoa City was not the affable good guy who left with Mac (Kelley Kruger) and Reed (Tristan Lake Leabu).

This JT verbally abused Victoria (Amelia Heinle). He physically abused Victoria. And, oh, yeah, after spying on her dad, JT tried to kill Victor (Eric Braeden). Once by accident, once on purpose.

So, he definitely deserved some kind of comeuppance. But did he deserve this? Here’s how almost 6,000 of you feel.

What Goes Around, Comes Around
Live by the sword, die by the sword, 82% of you cluck, not particularly sympathetically.

Once JT put his hands on Victoria, once he left her bruised and scared for her life, only death was an adequate punishment.

And getting it from your mother-in-law? Well, that’s just icing on the justice cake. Though Nikki’s (Melody Thomas Scott) body count is getting there, isn’t it?

Due Process
JT, at the very least, deserved a fair trial – if not psychological help for his obvious problems, 17% of the audience judges. It wasn’t up to Nikki to administer the death penalty like that. JT is her grandson’s father!

We Have Suggestions
And for a tiny 1%, there were other options. The cops could have been called. Arrest and jail . time might have been a better option.

Now, Nikki is a murderer – again – and all the other women are accessories after the fact. Not to mention that Victoria will have to live with the guilt of what she did in front of Reed. And Reed will always wonder where his dad disappeared to.
