Popular “Young and the Restless” star Melissa Ordway (Abby) is now a well-known name in the daytime world for her role as Abby, but did you know this wasn’t her first big part?
Get to know Ordway with some facts about her road to Y&R fame.
1. Privileged
Ordway’s big break came when she landed the role of Jordanna in the comedy “Privileged” where she played a spoiled teen growing up in Palm Beach, FL.
2. Melrose Place
In 2010, Ordway appeared for a three-episode run on the remake of “Melrose Place” as Morgan McKellan. Unfortunately, the show wasn’t as popular as executives hoped and only lasted one season.
3. Hollywood Heights
Ordway became a series regular on “Hollywood Heights” in 2012 as Chloe Carter. It was on this set that she met Hunter King (Summer), Robert Adamson (Noah), and Y&R Executive Producer Jill Farren Phelps.
4. 90210
In 2013, Ordway landed a role in another remake of a TV classic. She created the part of Sydney Price on “90210” for a six-episode run.
5. Becoming Abby
Almost immediately after leaving “90210,” she got the call to take over the role of Abby Newman on Y&R. Playing Abby is a part that has changed her life. As a regular cast member, she’s taken Abby from an immature brat to a mature married woman an immature brat to a married woman.
