Karma Comes After Cane, But Is It Enough?

The Young and the Restless
 Comments

The lawsuit between Juliet and Brash & Sassy on The Young and the Restless (YR) was costly! Not only did Victoria hand over a big check to her ex-employee, she then turned around and fired Cane because she felt she can’t trust him anymore.

Did Cane get the shaft — or was Vicki (Amelia Heinle) right in terminating the hunky exec from her team for his lies about what happened with Juliet in Japan (and thus leaving them open to said lawsuit)?

Cane’s Walking Papers
An overwhelming majority of voters, 82% to be exact, believes Cane should have been fired.

This is logical because Vicki’s argument made perfect sense; she noted that Cane (Daniel Goddard) had been lying for weeks, and as she needs a team she can trust, she felt she had no other choice than to let him go.

It’ll be up to Cane to prove that Juliet lied about what happened in Japan, and maybe then he can convince Vicki he should be given another chance.

Aussie Of All Trades
The good news is that a sought-after exec like Cane won’t be out of work for long. He is celebrating his 10th anniversary in Genoa City, and the Aussie transplant has held a multitude of positions over the last decade.

Cane first made the scene as a bartender at Jimmy’s before moving onto the corporate world where he’s held a variety of posts, including working for Neil at Jabot, acting as business manager of the Genoa City Athletic Club, and he’s even held one of the most prestigious jobs in town — Co-CEO of Chancellor Industries!

Forever Brash, Forever Sassy
A respectable amount of voters, 18%, voted that Cane should not  have been fired from his position as Victoria’s employee.

These voters most likely feel that Cane’s only guilty of using poor judgement by partying too much in Japan with Juliet following their big business victory. Every other misstep he’s made since then has been to protect Lily (Christel Khalil), his wife and the mother of their kids.

Also, Jack’s (Peter Bergman) shown interest in employing Juliet so she may find herself employed very shortly. If she ends up working, then it’s only fair that Cane gets to stay employed, too!
