On The Young and the Restless, Rey asked Sharon to marry him – after she told him to ask her to marry him. After she told herself that she had no feelings for Adam. Wouldn’t getting married to another guy prove that?
So that was a great beginning. The great beginning turned into a crappy middle when Adam was accused of trying to poison Rey (Jordi Vilasuso) – and Sharon (Sharon Case) took Adam’s side. So Rey moved out and decided he was done trying to make the marriage work. But do the fans agree? What almost 3,000 told us:
A winning 44% of you assume that Sharon and Rey are dunzo. Adam (Mark Grossman) knows that Chelsea (Melissa Claire Egan) is the one who set him up, so they’re over, too. Which means the path is clear for Adam and Sharon to finally get together. And stop dragging other people into their dysfunctional relationship.
It doesn’t matter what Sharon wants, as 30% of the audience expects Rey to serve her with divorce papers any minute now. The only reason he hasn’t done it up to now is because Faith (Reylynn Caster) keeps screwing up and needing her parents’ attention. But Rey is done, and no amount of therapy sessions will change his mind.
Only 26% believe that Sharon and Rey are meant to be. After the disaster that was Mia – and everyone that Sharon has ever been involved with – they were each other’s safe harbor, not to mention sane partners.
Sharon just has to get Adam out of her system, and Rey has to believe that Sharon has gotten Adam out of her system, and it will be smooth sailing for these crazy kids. We’ll see peace in our time, yet! The Young and the Restless (YR) airs weekdays on CBS. Check your local listings for airtimes.
