The soap opera community is a small one and when an actor needs support, fellow soap stars are there to offer it — including The Young and the Restless star Camryn Grimes.
Camryn Grimes Tries To Help A Friend
According to her tweet, former General Hospital star Robert Palmer Watkins and his roommate lost their home in a fire and Grimes is on hand to help the actor get a new start and get back on his feet.
In fact, Watkins later tweeted a pic of himself and his roommate in an RV, which is where they are now staying. He added hashtags about fires and also displayed his positive spirit.
Camryn Grimes posted the link to a Go Fund Me for Watkins, called Emergency Funding to Relocate, Restore and Rebuild with a goal of raising $10,000. As of Sunday morning, it has raised close to $4,000.
What Happened
According to the Go Fund Me page, the fire struck on September 21 and still remains uninhabitable thanks to smoke and water damage.
“Like many aspiring artists in Hollywood, these young men often live paycheck-to-paycheck with little to no emergency relief funds. While extremely untimely, they were in a short period of no rental insurance coverage as new roommates had recently moved in and out,” the page reads.
Watkins played Dillon Quartermaine on General Hospital from 2015-2017. Dillon left town to pursue his film career and many fans have begged for Watkins’ return ever since.
