On The Young and the Restless, Victoria warned Lily that Billy is still gambling. He’s just doing it with their company now, instead of sports.
Lily (Christel Khalil) dismissed Victoria’s (Amelia Heinle) warning, but did the audience? We asked over 2,000 fans whether they thought Billy (Jason Thompson) was playing with fire:
You bet he is, 63% of you predict, and Victor (Eric Braeden) will burn him to a crisp. Not because Victor is necessarily better at what he does, but because Victor always wins. He keeps sitting at Society, people come by, he yells at them, and, one way or another, the odds inevitably go his way.
If Billy thinks he can change the course of history, Billy is wrong. He might as well give up now, before he causes even more damage and loses everything he already has.
A smaller 24% of the audience does agree that Billy is playing with fire, but you see it as happening more in his personal, rather than his professional life. He’s leading Victoria on, and he’s telling Lily little white lies. That’s a dangerous path to tread. Billy has historically had a tough time keeping even one ball in the air. Juggling is not his forte.
Only a last place 13% believe that this time, Billy will finally pull out a win and come out on top. Maybe it’s because Victor is slowing down. Maybe it’s because Victor isn’t even running Newman anymore. Or maybe it’s because if he talked any slower, he’d fall asleep in the middle of a sentence, making it hard to believe Victor really cares all that much.
Billy is the one with the fire in his belly, so it’s Victor who should prepare to get burned. The Young and the Restless (YR) airs weekdays on CBS. Check your local listings for airtimes.
