Do Blondes Have More Fun: Fans Pick A Favorite For Phyllis on The Young and the Restless!

There’s lots to debate on The Young and the Restless these days.

Was Ashley (Eileen Davidson) justified in what she did to Jack (Peter Bergman)? Was Jack justified in what he did to Ashley? Is Tessa (Cait Fairbanks) being honest with Mariah (Camryn Grimes)? Did Lily (Christel Khalil) deserve less – or more – jail time?

And then there are the Phyllis (Gina Tognoni) centered questions. Should she have slept with Nick (Joshua Morrow)? Which time? Should she forgive Summer (Hunter King) for sleeping with Billy (Jason Thompson)? Does she deserve to be CEO of Jabot?

And, of course, the most important query of our time: Blonde or redhead? Here’s how close to 7,000 fans voted!

Redheaded, off course, 69% of you didn’t even need to stop and think about it. Y&R has plenty of blondes, most of whom have worn it longer – and better. Phyllis came to Genoa City as a redhead (albeit also as Michelle Stafford) and that’s what made her stand out from the pack. (Well, that and the fact that she was completely nutsy, cuckoo crazy.)

It’s good to have the old look back. It suggests the naughty Phyllis that you love – and not the cry-baby who sobbed into her pillow over Billy – is back. She is ready to take names and kick butt, which is exactly what the show needs right now.

Gentlemen Prefer Blondes
But our readers don’t, as only 30% of the audience misses Phyllis’ golden tresses. You never understood why she changed colors in the first place. Blonde only makes Phyllis look more like Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott)… or Sharon (Sharon Case). Now why would she want to do that, when she can be her own, striking person?

But the fans who voted in favor of blonde prefer the kindler, gentler Phyllis. Blonde showed she was trying to change. She failed.
