Soaps are known for their young love stories, especially during the summer, and The Young and the Restless is no exception. But is there something to be said for maturity?
Ashley (Eileen Davidson) and Neil (Kristoff St. John) have been through the wringer, romantically speaking.
Neil lost his wife, Dru, to a cliff, his girlfriend, Sophia, to New York City, and his other wife, Hilary (Mishael Morgan), to his son, Devon (Bryton James).
While Ashley was once married to Victor (Eric Braeden). The less said about that, the better. (There are also some dead husbands and boyfriends scattered about.)
Both are due for something good to happen. Could this be the pairing that finally works out? Here’s how almost 13,000 viewers responded.
Go For It!
It’s the perfect fit, 53% of the audience cheers. This is the coupling both have been waiting for. Ashley needs a grownup who has his own life, his own family, his own business… and isn’t intimidated by Victor.
When The Mustache fired him, Neil just shrugged and moved on. Like a grownup. He even wished Victor all the best. If Victor growls at him for dating Ashley – you know Victor, once you’re his possession, you’re his possession for good – he’ll likely react in the same way.
And Neil could use a woman who is his equal in every way. And who won’t pick fights with his kids because that would simply be beneath her.
Chemistry Test
The chemistry just isn’t there, 43% of you insist. Neil and Ashley are friends, and that’s all they should ever be. He once dated her stepdaughter, Victoria (Amelia Heinle), for Pete’s sake.
The only reason either is even considering this is because they’re both at loose ends, him with Lily’s (Christel Khalil) precarious legal state – which Devon is cheering, and Ashley with Billy (Jason Thompson) trying to destroy Jabot, while Jack (Peter Bergman) pines for a daddy. They’re not thinking straight!
