During Eileen Davidson’s time on The Young and the Restless, Ashley Abbott has been known for being sensible and cool-headed. Well, except for the bout of amnesia. And the long con switched paternity test on her brother. And her marriage to a guy named Blade.
But, most of the time, she is calm, collected, and clean. Eileen Davidson is none of those things in the 1983 scream-fest, The House On Sorority Row. (Granted, her time as Kristen DiMera on Days of our Lives was a little closer to this.)
Though she debuted on Y&R in March of 1982, the horror movie she filmed before she started hit theaters over a year later.
In it, Eileen Davidson plays a college girl spending the last summer after graduation at her sorority house. Where a prank goes wrong, and an old lady dies…and then the girls responsible for it start dropping, too. Lots of blood, lots of gore, lots of jump scares.
And lots of future soap stars! Eileen Davidson isn’t the only co-ed destined for daytime drama stardom. The movie also features Harley Jane Kozak, best known for playing Annabelle on Guiding Light, and Mary on Santa Barbara, where she holds the distinction of being the only soap character ever killed by a falling letter C.
Meanwhile, their most scheming, bloodthirsty friend is played by Kate McNeil. McNeil may have only spent four years on As the World Turns, but her actions were felt for decades afterward.
As Karen Haines, she married James Stenbeck (Anthony Herrera), followed by John Dixon (Larry Bryggman), and, most important, she was responsible for Dusty Donovan – then a kid played by Brian Bloom – coming to town, being revealed as a member of the Stenbeck family, and sticking around long after Karen left town.
