While Mal Young is still executive producer of The Young and the Restless and heading up the soap’s writing team, a soap vet has returned to the fold.
According to TV Source, Josh Griffith is confirmed to have re-joined Y&R’s production team and there are rumors he might be joining the writing team as well.
Griffith began as a consultant with Y&R in 2006 and was eventually moved into a writing position before being let go in 2013.
He then went on to write for Days of Our Lives, where he was involved with penning the Necktie Killer story that still has ramifications today.
This news comes on the heels of longtime Y&R vet Christel Khalil announcing on Monday that she’s chosen to drop to recurring status with the soap, making fans wonder if Lily will indeed serve prison time and therefore, barely be seen.
With so much casting and production news coming from this soap in a matter of days, many wonder what shoe will drop next.
Many fans have been distressed by the direction of longtime characters, including Jack, who is suddenly no longer an Abbott, and JT, who was turned into a spousal abuser who allegedly ended up dead.
Stay tuned to see if there’s any more real-life drama to go along with the reel-life drama.
