Back On the Hill: Should Jill Return To The Young and the Restless For Good?

It may be hard for 21st Century The Young and the Restless fans to believe, but Genoa City wasn’t always full of Abbotts and Newmans. Before the 1980s, the big families were the Brooks, the Chancellors, and the Fosters. The Brooks and the Chancellors were gorgeous and filthy rich. The Fosters were gorgeous…and working class.

One of the Fosters, Jill, was a beautician…with big plans to work her way up to the filthy rich category. She started working for Kay (Jeanne Cooper) and ended up with her husband, Phillip II — father of Phillip III, the one who faked his death for two decades, grandfather of Chance Chancellor, the one currently somehow mixed up with Adam (Mark Grossman).

When Phillip II dropped dead before marrying her, Jill moved on to the Abbott family, son Jack (Peter Bergman) and father John (Jerry Douglas). Much wackiness ensued – Victor (Eric Braeden) was even thrown into the mix for a while there, as a possible father for Billy (Jason Thompson).

In other words, Jill (Jess Walton) has a LOT of history in this town. Should she be spending more time there? What over 7,000 voters want to see happen:

Yes, of course, 71% of you cheer. Jill should be a big part of this Chance/Adam story. She and Esther (Kate Linder) haven’t snarked at each other in a while. Cane (Daniel Goddard) is so desperate for a motherly talk-to, he’s leaning on Traci (Beth Maitland). And Jack can’t seem to get a new relationship going. So how about an old one?

Chance clearly doesn’t want his grandma knowing what he’s up, Esther has much bigger secrets on her place, Cane has moved on, and Jack won’t be going down that road again — ever.
