The mystery of Jack’s paternity on The Young and the Restless and how it may — or may not — connect to the Newmans could be taking a new twist.
The show has hired actor Richard Gleason to play the role of Matt Miller, Victor’s half-brother.
According to published reports, Gleason is bringing some soap credits to his new gig and begins airing on Thursday, September 20. He’s appeared in short-term roles on One Life to Live, All My Children, and even The Doctors!
Y&R’s being mum about what brings Matt back to Genoa City, but it’s logical that he may shed some light into the ongoing paternity story of Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman).
If Albert Miller (played by the late George Kennedy) turns out to be Jack’s dad, then the ex-Abbott is getting not only one half-brother in Victor but another in Matt!
Matt first popped up in Genoa City in 1983. He had a brief romance with Ashley before leaving town. He returned to visit Victor in 2003 to give him news about their dad.
Gleason may be a familiar face to primetime audiences. His credits include This is Us, Criminal Minds, and 2 Broke Girls.
The run is set to be short term, but Gleason says he’d love to come back for more if the show calls!
The Young and the Restless airs weekdays on CBS. Check local listings for airtimes.
