Abby Hits The Road: When Will Melissa Ordway Return to Y&R?

As her social media followers can attest to, The Young and the Restless star Melissa Ordway has a brand new role that she’s adoring — mother to infant Sophie Jolie and toddler Olivia Rose. But what does it mean for Abby and her return to Genoa City?

A trip to Paris has been talked about on the show so it’s likely we’ll see Abby going abroad to explain her portrayer’s maternity leave. How long will the fan favorite be off the canvas? Perhaps not long at all!

The show had the option of pre-taping some phone call scenes of Abby talking to her loved ones back in Genoa City. However, since Ordway delivered Sophie in advance of her due date, the show may not have had the opportunity to get some of those moments completed.

As you can see in the Instagram post below, Ordway is happily posting photos of her lovely daughters and hasn’t yet indicated on social media when she’ll be back.

CBS Daytime has always been family-friendly, accommodating new mothers on both of their soaps — Y&R and The Bold and the Beautiful. So it’s possible that when Ordway does return, she’ll be bringing one or both of her children with her!
