Maybe Lily will be going to jail on The Young and the Restless after all now that Christel Khalil made a stunning announcement.
Khalil, who plays the character of Neil and Dru’s daughter has announced that she’s chosen to switch to recurring status, according to a tweet she sent on Monday afternoon..
The Emmy winner wants her fans to know that this move is her decision — not the show’s head honchos.
“Hello Lovelies! I wanted you to be the first to know that if you see less of me on @youngandrestlesscbs , it’s because I have decided to switch from Y&R full time to recurring status.”
The gorgeous actress went on to explain exactly what led to her decision.
“That means I’m not leaving, just ready (after 16 amazing years playing Lily) to explore new things! I will continue to be a proud member of the Y&R family and look forward to further adventures playing Lily. Thank you for all the love and support over the years!”
Khalil first joined the show as Lily back in August 2002. She played the part until 2005 when she vacated the role.
Then, Davetta Sherwood took over the part. Khalil returned to the program a year later and has played the part on both a recurring and contract status ever since.
How will this affect screentime for Lily — and even Cane (Daniel Goddard)? Stay tuned to find out!
