A First Look At Reylynn Caster As Faith on The Young and the Restless

The Young and the Restless is ready to introduce Reylynn Caster as its new Faith on Monday, as Alyvia Alyn Lind left the role of Nick and Sharon’s troubled teenage daughter this past week.

Reylynn Caster Is Excited About Her New Role

Caster appeared on KWCH12, a CBS affiliate in Wichita, Kan., which is where the actress is from, talking about what to expect from her initial days on the soap.

The news clip began with a sneak peek of Caster in the role, with Faith looking a little worse for wear after getting drunk and stealing and crashing a truck from the Newman ranch. In one of her first scenes, she’s having a conversation with Sharon (Sharon Case) while eating from a bowl of popcorn.

Caster then appeared and explained how she was excited to sink her teeth into the role, having done comedy for most of her young career.

“I’ve been wanting to do drama for so long,” she shared. “I feel like that’s more of my roots from when I was in Kansas, I always did more dramatic roles with everything that I did.”

But when she got to Hollywood, the comedy roles came calling, and Caster soon got adjusted to that, so she’s looking forward to the challenge of bringing the drama element back to her career.

Among Caster’s other credits are ABC’s hit comedy American Housewife; Me, Myself, & I; and Think. Create. Repeat.

With Faith dealing with some peer-pressure angst and social-media bullying, it appears that her storyline is going to be getting a bit heavier in the next few months, and Caster is excited about what’s to come for the character.

“With this show, there’s so much constantly going on, it’s so fun,” she says. “Every time I read an episode, I’m like, ‘ooh, now this is happening! So that’s been really cool.”

Lind, who has played Faith since 2011, will be on the new Syfy series Chucky based on the popular Child’s Play films and was not able to juggle both projects.
