When it comes to The Young and the Restless, every fan has their own opinion – and Soap Hub is no different. For five days we sat and watched the good, the bad, and everything in between, and now we offer you a handy review, and a cheeky critique, of Y&R’s week that was.
The highlight of this week’s Young and Restless was most certainly the awkward dinner party hosted by Devon Hamilton (Bryton James). From Imani Benedict (Leigh-Ann Rose) overtly flirting with Nate Hastings (Sean Dominic) and airing the other guests’ dirty laundry, to Elena Dawson (Brytni Sarpy) downing that glass of wine like it was life-giving water, it was all delicious, soapy goodness.
Not far behind, however, was the development in Ashland Locke’s (Richard Burgi) and Victoria Newman’s (Amelia Heinle) personal relationship. The sizzling hot pair made love not once, but twice, we very much approve.
What has us worried, however, was Ashland’s seeming consideration of Billy Abbott’s (Jason Thompson) proposal to purchase Locke Media Group – the very company he’d promised he would merge with Newman Enterprises. Might this potent pairing fizzle out before they’ve had a real chance to burn?
* So, after all the hovering and smothering, we’re expected to believe that Abby Chancellor (Melissa Ordway) is just calmly accepting the fact that her surrogate has flown the figurative coop without a word to her, or to the missing person’s own girlfriend?
And speaking of Mariah Copeland (Camryn Grimes), we’re reserving judgment where Benjamin “Stitch” Rayburn (Sean Carrigan) is concerned. Surely it’s just way too obvious for him to be the culprit? It was is obviously a snatch and grab…right?
* Is it really a coincidence that Anita Lawson fell and broke her hip at the exact same time that daughter Chelsea (Melissa Claire Egan) is desperately looking for an excuse to gain her freedom from that mental health clinic? Perhaps Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) is on to something here…
* Ashley (Eileen Davidson) and Traci Abbott (Beth Maitland) welcome back…please don’t leave again! The Abbott manse is in desperate need of some more actual Abbott’s, and we’ve got a sneaking suspicion that ole Tara Locke (Elizabeth Leiner) might be bamboozling Jack (Peter Bergman) and Kyle (Michael Mealor). They’re gonna need some TLC if that’s the case.
