Fans who gripe that characters don’t stay consistent never met Ridge Forrester on The Bold and the Beautiful. Since his inception, Ridge has always known what’s best for everyone and doesn’t hesitate to do whatever he wants because he’s never wrong!
Ridge’s (Thorsten Kaye) latest bold (pun intended) move was to ask his pal, judge Craig McCullen (Joe Lando), to give custody of Will (Finnegan George) to his mom Katie (Heather Tom), leaving his dad Bill (Don Diamont) devastated.
Of course, Ridge has this history of trying to run people’s lives. He lied to Brooke (Katherine Kelly Lang) that he loved her so she’d dump Thorne (Ingo Rademacher). Ridge simply does what he wants, when he wants!
Will Ridge ever stop this kind of all-powerful behavior? Soap Hub asked B&B fans to weigh in on this (unlikely) possibility. Most of you, 92%, responded not only do you not think he will, but you don’t want him to!
You find something appealing about having a guy like Ridge around who will make all the decisions in your life and you’re okay with that, because he has your best interests at heart.
A small amount of you, 5%, feel that Ridge will change. You’re optimistic. And who knows? Maybe he will. Part of your decision may come from the fact that you believe Ridge doesn’t mean any harm when he tries to run people’s lives.
The remaining 3% of voters opted the “other” response, adding write-in comments saying that you don’t care for Ridge trying to run other people’s lives. What’s important to keep in mind is that Ridge is going to have to pay for his actions.
Brooke, who grew up without a father, is not happy that Bill is now without his son. This could be the catalyst that drives Ridge and Brooke apart, ironically, sending her back to the last place Ridge wants her to be — in Bill’s arms.
The Bold and the Beautiful airs weekdays on CBS. Check local listings for air times.
