Which Soap Star Received The Top Award From The National MS Society?

 Comments

Many of you have a beloved pet charity, or two, and so do many of your favorite soap stars. They give of themselves, their time, and their money, all in the hopes of educating the public, helping those afflicted and affected, and ultimately eradicating the issue.

Which Soap Star Was It?

All of these actors are either currently starring in, or about to join the cast of, one of the four currently airing daytime dramas – The Bold and the Beautiful, Days of our Lives, General Hospital, The Young and the Restless. However, only one of them was awarded a top honor by the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.

But who can that star be? Was it Don Diamont (Bill Spencer, BB), Linda Dano (Vivian Alamain, DAYS), Kirsten Storms (Maxie Jones, GH), or Melody Thomas Scott (Nikki Newman, YR)?

Linda Dano

Since the passing of her father, Dano has worked with several organizations that tackle medical conditions such as depression and Alzheimer’s disease, and she is also an active donor to charities like HeartShare, and the National Osteoporosis Foundation.

Kirsten Storms

Storms has worked on behalf of several charities, including Habitat for Humanity, Hollywood Knights, and programs that supported American troops serving in Afghanistan and Iraq – including her brother, Austin, who served in the latter country.

Melody Thomas Scott

Scott has long been known for serving as the spokesperson for TV Cares and her support of the Save the Earth Foundation, and she also works to promote awareness of interstitial cystitis. Of interesting note: Scott’s character has been diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis, though she’s been in remission for years.

Don Diamont

In 2001, Diamont received the Ambassador of the Year Award from the National Multiple Sclerosis Society in recognition of his support in raising awareness of the disease. Diamont’s work for the organization is done in honor of his niece, who suffers from MS.

So, if you guessed that the soap star in question was Don Diamont, then you were absolutely correct!
