Once Loona showed her true colors, we didn’t even reassess the night she and Zende had sex. But we should have. That night was a hot mess for many reasons, including Luna “accidentally” swallowing Poppy’s happy mints. In fact, that night ruined RJ and Zende’s relationship, plus Zende took tremendous heat from Brooke. Even though The Bold and the Beautiful continually attempted to say that Zende didn’t take advantage of Luna, many of us saw through that. Drugs were involved, and so the line of consent was blurred big time. Then Luna unexpectedly confessed something about that night in the Monday, September 2 episode.
The Best Sex of Her Life
Once again, Luna (Lisa Yamada — B&B’s Performer of the Month for August) tried to explain her motives to Steffy (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood). Thanks to Poppy (Romy Park) and her free-spirited ways, her childhood was nomadic, and she hated every bit of it. That’s why she devised the plan for a brand new life where Bill (Don Diamont) was her father, and she lived in his mansion. Then she framed Poppy for Tom and Hollis’s double murder and schemed to cuddle up to Bill herself.
Loona also cleared up the night that she and Zende (Delon de Metz) slept together. She not only told Steffy about that night’s existence, but she also revealed that her sleeping with Zende was planned. She must have felt the need to cause chaos with the Forresters. Plus, she wanted to stretch her manipulative muscles, pay Poppy back, and spend sexy time with a man. Apparently, to her, RJ (Joshua Hoffman) is still a boy.
However, in the process, everybody thought Zende had taken advantage of Luna. That he should have known she was on something because she acted differently. Many cheered when RJ punched Zende. And ever since the controversy of that night died down, the character has appeared only sporadically. When he was around, it seemed that any talk of that night died down, and we were supposed to forget all about it.
But now, Luna not only manipulated the entire night and what came afterward, but she also says it was the best sex of her life. That was a brilliant way to walk back that particular plot twist. Sure, Zende still slept with his cousin’s girl (which is a big no-no), but the act wasn’t nearly as nefarious as we once thought. Was that always in the minds of the writers?
And in other news, how about the fact that Clueless Doctor Finn (Tanner Novlan) is the one who’s putting all the clues about Loona together? Even Li (Naomi Matsuda) found it incredulous that her niece’s sweet-and-innocent act was just that, an act. This puts him one step closer to tracking down Steffy.
What did you think of Luna’s revelation? What are other plot twists we need to revisit put under the Loona lens? Let us know in the comments!
