When William J. Bell created The Young and the Restless, he wanted to make sure that music – which he had incorporated greatly into Days of Our Lives (DOOL) as head writer – was a big part of the show. He carried that belief (no pun intended) to The Bold and the Beautiful with singing sensations Jeff Trachta (ex-Thorne) and Bobbie Eakes (ex-Macy).
The two characters were star-crossed lovers given that their families were rivals in the fashion world. Whenever they got close, Thorne’s family would suspect Macy if any industrial espionage had taken place.
Understandably, Thorne and Macy had a lot of angst to play and while they had very little to sing about when times were tough, they often did just that.
In this scene, Thorne was at the piano in the Forrester mansion and began playing and singing the tune When I Fall In Love. He had planned on singing the duet alone, but Macy showed up and joined in, beautifully and effortlessly.
The pair sang many songs over the years, but this one is a particular favorite here at Soap Hub. It speaks to the pair’s commitment and devotion to one another. Enjoy!
The Bold and the Beautiful (BB) airs weekdays on CBS. Check local listings for airtimes.
